Tuensang DPDB deplores poor road condition in district

Dimapur, October 18: Tuensang District Planning and Development Board meeting was held in the DC’s conference hall Tuensang on October 18 under the chairmanship of Mohammed Ali Shihab, DC & vice chairman DPDB Tuensang.
The members of the meeting discussed on the deplorable conditions of the National Highways, District Highways and village road in Tuensang. Departmental officers were made to comment on the conditions of road and all lamented on the deplorable condition.
Secretary, Red Cross Society T.Y Sangtam while deliberating on the issue stated that unless step brotherly treatment by the department concerned is rectified the region will never have proper roads and infrastructures. The members were of the view that roads in the district should be given to the BRO so that quality workmanship shall be achieved.
Emergency departments like police, health, etc of the district lamented on the deplorable condition of the road which affects execution of their departmental duties and functions.
The officers of the districts were also annoyed by the poor workmanship of road contractors, with newly constructed roads lasting only for weeks or months. The forum decided to set up a district committee to pursue the work activities and also decided that roads shall be the agenda for every month’s DPDB meeting until necessary arrangements are meet on the road sector.
Lankonsen, ADC Shamator appealed to the District officers to keep a check on their subordinates officers of the sub divisions and check their performances.
Imti Chang, Senior Treasury Officer Tuensang asked the house to submit their salary bills starting from 25th of the month or before 2nd last working day of the month so that the employees can get their salary on the last day of the month as per the standing order. (Page News Service)
