Dimapur, October 1: District Cultural Office, Mon organised Tribal Festival on the theme ‘Igniting Cultural Traditions’ on September 30 at Town Council Hall, Mon.
DC Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, emphasised the importance of culture in way of life and for sustainable development.
District Cultural Officer, Mon, Peter Thanghoi Thai encouraged the participants to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage. He urged the young artists to keep up the tradition of their forefathers.
Artists from Wangkhao Government College, Mon Vale College, Konjong Higher Secondary School, and Jahjon Ward Youth performed. Log drum dragging ceremonies, gun powder making exhibitions, a war dance, and folklore recitations were some of the items performed.
