Dimapur, August 25: Train services between Dimapur and Guwahati have been affected from Saturday morning after 20 wagons of a goods train derailed at around 11.30 a.m. between Digaru and Panbari stations, some 28 km from Guwahati.
Out of 20 derailed wagon, 5 wagons capsized thereby stopping movement of UP and DN train services between Guwahati and Lumding. Accident Relief Train is at site and senior officials from HQ and / Division are at site supervising the restoration work.
General Manager / NF Railway personally monitored the operation for restoration of services at the earliest.
As a result of the derailment, 15665 Guwahati – Dimapur BG Express, 15666 Dimapur – Guwahati BG Express and 15669 Guwahati – Dimapur Nagaland Express of August 25 was cancelled.
15670 Dimapur – Guwahati Nagaland Express of August 26 would also remain cancelled.
Today’s other trains that were cancelled are 15603 Guwahati – Ledo I/City Express; 15605 Furketing – Dibrugarh Intercity Express; 15604 Ledo – Guwahati I/City Express; 15606 Dibrugarh – Furketing Intercity Express; 55602 Lumding – Guwahati passenger; 15717 Guwahati – Mariani I/City Express; 12085 Guwahati – Dibrugarh Shatabdi Express; 12068 Jorhat – Guwahati Janshatabdi Express; 75728 Haibargaon – Guwahati DEMU; 75729 Guwahati – Silghat Town DEMU.
Meanwhile, 1598 New Tinsukia-Rangiya Inter-City Express has been short terminated at Dimapur and partially cancelled between Dimapur and Rangiya. It would originate from Dimapur on August 26. (Page News Service)
