Dimapur, October 28: The Village Adoption Committee (VAC) – 15th Southern Angami II AC in collaboration with Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Department organized a training programme on “Value Addition of Fish Products” on October 25 at Kezo Basa under Kohima district. The training was held for the women groups/ SHG’s under Gender Budgeting 2017-18 with an aim to help them in entrepreneurship development.
Altogether 22 trainees from all walks of life enthusiastically participated in the hands on training programme. Resource person Dory Yanthan, District Fisheries Officer Kohima and her staffs taught on preparation of fish products which are simple and easy to follow processing techniques such as fish pickle, fish soup and fish cutlet.
VAC Member and Office Secretary, KMC Zakiekhotuo Kiso expressed happiness to the Fisheries Department for providing the training and urged the trainees that the practical knowledge and skills they gain should be put into practice. The training programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Divi Naki, Chairman Kezo Basa.
