Dimapur, July 7: A 1-day training and awareness programme on scaling up of lowland paddy was held on Tuesday at the Directorate of Agriculture conference hall. The training was organized by the Department.
Director of Agriculture, M. Ben Yanthan said the scheme was a new programme under RKVY (Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana) scheme in order to enhance food production in the State.
To achieve the department’s target “Food for all by 2025”, the Director encouraged Agriculture officials to rededicate and strengthen to improve agriculture production in the State.
In the training, key implementation of the scheme was delivered by Letkholal Hangsing, Jointt Director of Agriculture (Planning). He emphasis on the guidelines of the implementation of the new scheme under RKVY.
Joint Director Letkholal stressed on the importance to achieve self sufficiency production. He encouraged Agri officials to uphold their duties once they go back to their respective areas to improve Agri & allied sectors.
