Training on routine immunization held at Jalukie

Dimapur, June 16: Training on routine immunization handbook for medical officers and health workers and District workshop on Rota Virus Immunization was held from June 10 to 12 in the conference hall, CHC Jalukie, Peren District. The resource person for the training were Dr M Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO UIP/RCH, Dr Chamzai MO Tening PHC and Dr Ramdeu, MO Heningkunglwa PHC and Dr Albert, MO CHC Jalukie. Rajesh, Project Officer, UNDP also attended the training as District Monitor.
The training covered topics on National Immunization Schedule (NIS), Universal Immunization Program and responsibilities of medical officers, station approach to cold chain & logistics management, safe injection & waste disposal, demo hands on practice, supervision & monitoring, communication for behavior change, vaccine preventable diseases(VPDs) & surveillance of VPD’s, capacity building in immunization, the components of micro-planning, developing RI micro-plan, stepwise approach and formats, various exercises on survey planning form, conducting headcount survey, steps of calculation for preparing the final plan, discussion on other micro planning components like ANM rooster/wastage plan, how to develop an alternate vaccine delivery and AEFI, etc.
The training included pre test and post test, role plays and thorough discussion hour; films were flashed on immunization and hands on skill practice.
