Training on potato processing held at Guwahati

Dimapur, April 26: With an aim to guide and help entrepreneurs gain knowledge and skills on processing of potato, the Department of Industries & Commerce, Nagaland in collaboration with Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) sponsored 10 members from Nagaland to undergo 2-day training on “Potato processing and value addition” at Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) Regional Centre, Guwahati on April 23 & 24.
Dr. B K Yadav, Professor and Head, IIFPT, Guwahati, emphasized on the importance of food processing and also gave a brief introduction on the processing of various food products available within the State which was followed by interactive session.
Avik Panda, Senior Research Fellow, IIFPT, Guwahati demonstrated various processable products of potato during the two days training. The training successfully concluded with distribution of certificates to participants. (Page News Service)
