Dimapur, November 3: A training on ‘Importance of peace education in educational institution’ for peace educators was conducted by Peace Channel on November 2 at Libemo Memorial School, Wokha. Garrol Lotha, Peace Channel, project coordinator was the resource person for the training programme.
The resource person shared on how individuals having negative perspective towards conflict usually fall prey to conflict that gradually leads to violent conflict. She added that conflict is not always negative, it also have potential productive outcome and it solely depends on how one tackles the conflicting issue.
Lotha also brainstormed on the ideas and concept that the participants perceived on peace, conflict and causes that lead to conflict. She encouraged the participants to be analytical thinkers and deal with conflicting issues non-violently.
She also highlighted on the purpose of imparting peace education in the educational institution.
