Training on Nutri Sensitive Agriculture held

Dimapur, September 15: Life Ministry Learning Centre(LMLC) in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Dimapur organized a one-day hands-on training for 20 women farmers from Naga United Village, Dimapur on September 14. The program was opened by Samuel Therieh, Director, LMLC who explained the vision of LMLC which looks forward to everyone living ‘an abundant life’ through their own hard labor.
He also explained that the 20 participants will be established as a group to work together and grow food in their own garden and in the process learn from one another so as to have a more fruitful outcome.
Dr. Ebibeni Ngullie, Sr. Scientist and Head, KVK Dimapur spoke about the importance of smart farming and as India observes September as ‘Poshan Abhiyan’ month.
She encouraged the mothers to maintain a proper nutritious diet for the family which differs from a traditional Naga Plate and emphasized on the importance on growing their own nutritional garden in their backyard.
V Kenny Rhetso CTO, Home Sc spoke about the importance of various fruits and vegetables found in the area and demonstrated food preservation methods which was followed by a detailed theoretical and practical demonstration on nutri-garden by Imliakum Pongen, Farm Manager KVK Dimapur.
The women farmers were then provided with seeds and IEM Solution to start their own nutri garden from KVK Dimapur and LMLC. (Page News Service)
