KOHIMA, MAY 26: Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister, TR Zeliang donated a Truent beta Cov Screening Machine to the Community Health Centre, Jalukie.
In this regard the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Denis Hangsing has written a letter to the Principal Director, Health and Family Welfare, seeking permission for COVIT-19 screening on Molbio Truenat RT PCR System.
The CMO has sought permission to use machine for screening of returnees and staff from outside the State and district.
Dr. Hangsing said all guidelines prescribed by the ICMR will be followed and samples of those found positive on screening will be sent to Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima, for confirmation and recording.
So far the State Government has not proposed for such machine for hospitals in other districts, which do not have testing Labs.
According to a source the total cost of a machine would be around Rs. 10 lakhs.
