Dimapur, January 22: Minister for Public Works Department, Nagaland, Tongpang Ozukum has been awarded the prestigious Aadarsh Yuva Vidhayak Puraskar (Ideal Youth Legislator Award). The award was conferred by the Indian Student Parliament (Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad) on its 9th Convention (9th Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad) held on January 20 at MIT- World Peace University Campus, Pune.
The convention is an annual event where thousands of students from different Universities and Youth Leaders from across the country and abroad come to participate. The convention is being supported by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, Ministry of Higher & Technical Education and Ministry of Sports &Youth Welfare, Government of Maharashtra.
The session was graced by Advocate Jignesh Mevani, MLA Vadgam (SC), Banaskantha, Gujarat as the Chief Guest.
Ashish Butail, MLA Palampur, Kangara constituency, Himachal Pradesh was also honoured with the “Ideal Youth Legislator Award” in the same session.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr K R Venugopal, Bangalore University, Bengaluru, Karnataka and Tushar Gandhi (Great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and President of Mahatma Gandhi Foundation) handed over the Trophy, a shawl and citation to Tongpang Ozukum, Minister Nagaland and. Shish Butail, MLA, Himachal Pradesh respectively.
