Sharingain file for 26-Aonglenden A/C
Kohima, March 22: On the fifth day of filing of nominations, three candidates, two from ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and one from Indian National Congress have submitted their documents for the lone Lok Sabha seat and bye-poll to 26 Aonglenden Assembly Constituency in Nagaland.
Ruling People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) consensus candidate and NDPP nominee Tokheho Yepthomi and former Chief Minister of Nagaland, K L Chishi have filed nominations as Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and Indian National Congress candidates respectively for the lone Lok Sabha seat of Nagaland.
They submitted the documents to the Commissioner Nagaland and Returning Officer for the Parliamentary polls in Nagaland, M Patton here today.
Meanwhile, Ruling PDA consensus candidate, Sharingain Longkumer is the only candidate so far to have filed nomination for 26-Aonglenden Assembly Constituency bye-poll.
He submitted his documents to the SDO(Civil) Mokokchung, Abhinav Shivam who is also the Assistant Returning Officer for the bye-poll.
Filing of nominations started on March 18 and will go on till March 25.
Scrutiny of papers will be conducted on March 26 while last date of withdrawal is March 28.
Polls for both the seats will be held simultaneously on April 11 along with the first phase of the seven phased parliamentary polls in the country.
