Dimapur, January 31: NSCN (IM) chairman, Q Tuccu today called upon all members of NSCN to stand firm at this stage of decisive moment “where we make history – in life of death.”
“This is the crucial moment where we make history – in life of death,” he said in his speech during the 41st NSN Raising Day on Friday.
In their unceasing attempts to subdue the Nagas, Tuccu said “the enemies are still around” in one form or the other. “Their strategy is to fight the Nagas through the Nagas and to sabotage the Naga political talks through the Nagas, so that the Naga national issue is murdered by the Nagas themselves. And that enemies have already penetrated into our organizations and system. We must be aware of the enemies within,” he said.
Stating that the NSCN will cling to the Framework Agreement (FA) signed on 3rd August, 2015, Tuccu said the FA is historic as the Government of India recognizes the unique history and sovereignty of the Nagas. “It also says coexistence of the two entities sharing sovereign power. Government of India has also recognized the territory of the Nagas as the legitimate right of the Nagas to integration. The agreement also says creation of PAN Naga Hoho, a statutory body which will deal with cultural affairs, social integrity and interests of the Nagas. We believe this agreement will open a new era for a new relationship between the peoples if Indian leaders do not go back upon their word,” he said.
Stating that Nagas must move to change for the better or perish, he said we must change in all fields through revolution. “Revolution will stay in our land so long as our sovereign right to decide our future by ourselves is suppressed,” he added.
