Dimapur, September 25: The village council of Thenyizu under Phek District has withdrawn the suspension of Shivalaya Contruction Pvt. Ltd two-lane works under its jurisdiction following appeal made by and District administration and the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) with immediate effect.
At least 18 Kms of land in the ongoing two-lane Chakhabama-Zunheboto Road under SARDP is in the jurisdiction of Thenyizu village, said Thepukrayi Nienu, VDB secretary, Thenyizu village in a release.
In a joint meeting held at the village council hall between CPO officials and Thenyizu village authority on September 25, Thenyizu village highlighted their genuine grievances in resorting to suspension of works, and “the media hype defamation of the village name by the said Const. Company.”
With assurance from the CPO officials that their genuine grievances would be taken care of, the village authority have agreed to lift the ban in the best interest of the ongoing development activities, the release said.
Informing that during the abandonment period of the project “after the reckless and unscrupulous earth cutting works” of Mytas-Gayatri company, the road was managed and maintained by the villagers on their own for the past 4 years from 2014-18 , the release appealed that the District administration and State Government take note of its genuine grievances and give befitting recognition of their selfless services rendered.
