
Kikruma, May 4: Former Home Minister Thenucho Tunyi today laid the foundation stone of the Kikruma village local ground in Phek district.
Speaking on the occasion, Tunyi said that the recent development of the two-lane road from Kohima to Jessami has given lots of benefits to the people of Kikruma.
The foundation stone for the village local ground has been laid for the youths to excel, he said, adding that “we want our youth to excel and glorify our God through sports”.
Expressing that sport has become an industry today and paves way to communicate people to people as a process of peace and harmony, he said “we as Christians want to preach the good news to all the people and sportsperson can play a very important role”.
The village is grateful to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways under the dynamic leadership of the Minister Nitin Gadkari who is doing very well, said Tunyi while also lauding the contractors Multi-builders for the support and cooperation towards construction of the playground.
Kikruma Village Council chairman Thipuzhoyo Thira thanked all the landowners.
Stating that many additional works require to be done, he sought the continuous support of each and every individual.
Kikruma Local ground construction committee convenor Mutsikhoyo Yhobu thanked Thenucho Tunyi and retired secretary to Government of Nagaland Sachopra Vero for conceptualizing the local ground to promote the local talents in the field of sports.
