TGOUN to organize fashion show

The Department of Fashion Technology of the Global Open University, Nagaland is organizing its 7th Annual Fashion Show 2019 at DBDL Hall, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur on June 13 under the theme “Ethnic Exuberance.”
Interacting with the media fraternity prior to the upcoming event here at the premises of TGOUN, Sodzulhou Village, event coordinator Rosou Rhi said that the show is a competitive event and a part of the course for the students. The results of the show will facilitate the students to earn marks towards their internal assessments.
He said that though the event has one umbrella theme, the students have their own sub-themes and eventually the winners will be decided on three categories i.e., Best Design Collection, Best garment Construction, and Best Creativity.
Imtisashi Jamir, assistant event coordinator said that the show will be focused on ethnic collections as it is important for the students to know their own culture and start their foundation on it.
Only those who receive an invitation can be a part of the event, in which a total of which 11 (7 from the graduating batch and 4 from junior batch) students will display their collection with the help of 20 models (10 males and 10 females).
The different sub-themes under which the students will present their works through eight sequences are ‘Identity Reflection’, ‘Autochthonic Blend’, ‘Youth Culture’, ‘Majestatem’, ‘Immersed Culture’, and ‘Regalia’.
The collections on display will have the target group of people between 25 years to 30 years of age.
