Temporary suspension of ANATG stir continues

Crucial meeting with School Education Advisor today

Kohima, July 2: The All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers Group (ANATG) 2015 batch continued the temporary suspension of their two-week long agitation demanding service regularization for the second day today.
The ANATG-2015 batch had staged peaceful sit-in-protest since June 18 last outside the Directorate of School Education here with the sole demand of service regularization of 1166 ad-hoc teachers appointed till December 2012 by the State Government. But with no positive response from the Government the ad-hoc teachers launched hunger strike on June 29 last.
Following Saturday’s assurance made by their parent body – All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) to move the court with interlocutory application to exempt the ad-hoc teachers from the purview of the court order, ANATG-2015 batch had suspended the ongoing agitation the same night.
Spokesperson of the group, Bendang Ozukum said the suspension would continue till ANATG officials holds meeting with ANSTA and also NSF and ENSF for a concrete decision.
Ozukum had on Sunday reiterated that interlocutory application is not the ultimate solution for the agitating ad-hoc teachers, as their sole demand is service regularization. He said that a meeting with ANSTA was supposed to be held today but it could not materialize.
Nevertheless, he said that ANATG-2015 batch officials will be calling on Advisor for School Education, K T Sukhalu in his chamber at Secretariat on Tuesday at 11 am.
