Teachers’ trained to transform life


Dimapur, April 26: Peace Channel organized one day teachers training programme on “Education for transformative life” at Peace Channel conference hall, Dimapur on April 21 with the goal of bringing better changes to the educational system of the State. The main objective of conducting the programme was to capacitate the teachers to enhance education for transformative life, to train them to equip with leadership skill and to have peaceful classroom environment in the institution level.
Dr Fr CP Anto, Director, Peace Channel and Kishor Dass, Public Relation Officer, were the resource person for the training programme. Teacher coordinators who have been assisting the Peace Club in different institution attended the programme.
Dr Fr CP Anto speaking on class room management stressed on how peace education can incorporate into the education system and how a teacher can creatively deal with the students rather than executing punishment in the schools. The trainers, who were experts in the field provided training on how to get along and impart education to the students who are in high school & higher secondary levels.
Kishor Dass shared on education for transformative life and measure that can be taken in order to have a quality education and mould and transform the life of individuals.
Peace Channel conducted Teachers’ Training Program on the theme “Education for Transformative Life” at Don Bosco Youth Center, Wokha. With the objectives to capacitate the Teacher’s to impart education for transformative life, to train them to equip with leadership skills and to have peaceful classroom environment in the Institutions.
Altogether 7 teachers from 4 school participated for the program.
Speaking on the occasion the peace activist, Garrol Lotha addressed how Peace Education can be incorporated in the educational system for transforming life. She explained the concept of Peace Education and its impact on individual’s life.
She said that Peace Education is the process of acquiring values, knowledge and developing the attitudes, skills, and behaviors to live in harmony with oneself, with others and with the natural environment. She also added that Peace education can be use to imparting knowledge and preparing the youth to have positive outlook towards life.
She shared on the main objectives of Peace Education i.e. To appreciate the concept of peace, to address fears, understand the nature of conflict, provide information for their solution, provide information for the solutions, develop inter cultural understanding and to explore potential for a future without violence.
She also stressed on the strategies that can be used to promote peace in times of conflicting situations. She encouraged the Teachers to be a role model for their students by building a better rapport with the students. (Page News Service)
