Dimapur, March 9: The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) provided financial assistance to women vendors and traders affected in the fire outbreak at Mao & NN Market , Kohima
In order to reach out to the communities affected by the fire outbreak at the Mao Market, Kohima on February 27, the Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) reached out to the women vendors and petty business owners, with some financial assistance to rebuild their businesses. In partnership with the Caring Friends, Mumbai; 23 women received varying amounts dependent on their needs, with more to be supported in the days to come.
The organisation hopes that the support would comfort them at this point of need and encourage them to rebuild their businesses.
Many of the women beneficiaries today were widows, single mothers and sole breadwinners of their families who are facing difficult times with their livelihoods completely crushed by the fire accident. The accident which could have been avoided had the fire department been more prepared, has drawn the attention of people from all walks of life from within and outside the state. It has also thrown light on the unpreparedness of our concerned departments to face calamities and disasters.
The simple program organised by the Entrepreneurs Associates at its Head Office in Kohima began with a short prayer by Rev. Kedo Peseyie, Pastor of City Church.
