tEA organizes programme on uplifting women street vendors

Dimapur, June 1: The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) organized a programme on Uplifting Women Street Vendors at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur to sensitize women regarding the various schemes and services for the upliftment of their businesses.
The programme also served as a medium to create an awareness on women’s physical well-being. The tEA Dimapur branch also disbursed zero interest loans to the 9 eligible beneficiaries present in the programme today.
Ganesh Sharma, Superintendent of DMC, spoke briefly on the various schemes and services available for women street vendors. He elaborated on Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and how to avail these schemes.
He further encouraged the women participants to become entrepreneurs and become financially independent.
He thanked the Entrepreneurs Associates for encouraging the women street vendors.
He said today the women vendors are on the street but someday they would get into a shed or mall and then expand their business and become successful entrepreneur.
Sekulu Nyekha, Head of Feminist Futures India brought light upon the menstrual health and hygiene of women. She put forward various personal narratives and research studies, proving how, despite our society being modern, still hush away from the topic of menstrual health.
A noteworthy segment of the programme was the words of encouragement by Temjenlemla Phom, an active beneficiary of tEA who shared her positive experience with tEA and encouraging other participants to get connected with tEA in the days to come.
The programme was chaired by Krishna Priya, Research & Development Associate, tEA. The significance of the Uplifting women Street Vendors and tEA Services was given by ChubatemjenLongkumer, Content Writer, tEA. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Pao Haolai, Asst. Branch Supervisor, tEA.
