Tamil Nadu Govt ready to send stranded NE people to their homes

Dimapur, May 7: S J Chiru, IAS and R Sudhan, IAS nodal authority of the state for the movement of the Northeast stranded people to and from the state of Tamil Nadu held a meeting with the North East India Welfare Association Chennai President Wapangtoshi (Nagaland State Nodal Officer on Covid 19 in Chennai), Dr Hemanga Barman, Vice President and Colney, Secretary along with the representatives of the Manipur, Mizoram and Meghalaya states at the conference hall, Department of Agricultural Marketing Board Chennai on May 7.
During the meeting it was informed that Tamil Nadu government is ready to send the stranded Northeast people with approval of concerned state government.
People who want to travel should register in both the Tamil Nadu government online portal for registration and their respective state government’s online portal.
The concern state government nodal authorities has to communicate and do the consultation with the Tamil Nadu government nodal authority in this regard to finalizing the people.
As per a press release issued here, Tamil Nadu government will arrange trains with the railway department for transportation.
So far, Assam, Manipur and Mizoram state governments are in touch with the Tamil Nadu government nodal authority for taking their people from different parts of Tamil Nadu with the official list and they have prepared to provide all the necessities on their arrival.
All the respective Northeast state governments have been requested to submit the list of the stranded people to the Tamil Nadu government so that they can travel at the earliest. (Page News Service)
