World Bank approves $108 million loan to improve Assam’s disaster preparedness

Guwahati, March 25: The World Bank has approved a $108 million (approximately Rs 889 crores) loan to help Assam improve disaster preparedness and enhance flood forecasting. According to a release from the multilateral bank, the project will benefit around six million people and is part of a larger $500 million investment program for the state. World Bank, Assam govt discuss ways to fast track projects

Guwahati, August 23: Assam government and the World Bank have decided to fast track the completion of ongoing projects and expedite the approval procedure for those in the pipeline, an official release said.
