Mizoram govt to clear all pending healthcare bills by new fiscal: Minister

Aizawl, February 22: The Mizoram government has decided to disburse all pending healthcare bills under the state healthcare scheme before the new financial year 2024-25, the assembly was informed on Thursday. Health minister Lalrinpuii said more than Rs 45.59 crore is due for release to beneficiaries under the Mizoram State Health Care Scheme(MSHCS). Shillong, July 12: A man was arrested after he allegedly threw stones at the residence of Meghalaya minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Tuesday evening, the police said. The incident happened around 7.30 pm, superintendent of police of East Khasi Hills Sylvester Nongtynger said. Aizawl, March 19: Mizoram Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati has sought the opinion of the Election Commission of India (ECI) on a petition seeking disqualification of minister Robert Romawia Royte for allegedly holding “office of profit,” an official said on Sunday. Former Assam minister Nazrul Islam dies at 73

Guwahati, January 7: Former Assam minister and senior Congress leader Nazrul Islam died at a hospital here on Saturday following a prolonged illness. He was 73, and is survived by his wife, son and daughter. The three-time minister and five-term legislator was admitted to the hospital on Friday after his oxygen level dropped alarmingly and he breathed his last in the afternoon, sources at the medical establishment said.
