BHUBANESWAR, OCTOBER 29: The Vatican has initiated the process to beatify 35 Christians killed during the 2008 communal riots in Odisha’s Kandhamal district, delighting Church leaders in the State who said this was a nod to “love, compassion and justice”. Beatification, in which a person is conferred with the title of “Blessed”, is a step preceding canonisation.
