Meghalaya border to be sealed till March 2

Shillong, February 24: To ensure free and fair assembly elections in Meghalaya, the Election Commission has ordered sealing of the Indo-Bangladesh border in the state till March 2, state Chief Electoral Officer F R Kharkong said on Friday. Namsai/Guwahati, August 22: Regional committees formed by the Assam and Arunachal Pradesh governments to resolve interstate border disputes began their joint field visits on Monday. Arunachal: Strategic bridge at border with China washed away in flash flood

Itanagar, July 3: A Bailey bridge, connecting two strategic locations in Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh, was washed away in a flash flood, an official of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) said on Sunday. The bridge over Oyong river near Kororu village connected Koloring, the district headquarters, with Damin -- a vital link at the India-China border, he said.
