Guwahati, March 25: The World Bank has approved a $108 million (approximately Rs 889 crores) loan to help Assam improve disaster preparedness and enhance flood forecasting. According to a release from the multilateral bank, the project will benefit around six million people and is part of a larger $500 million investment program for the state. Guwahati, March 25: In a bid to promote intra-state air connectivity, Assam government on Saturday signed a MoU with Big Charter Private Limited (Flybig) to facilitate air services in the non-Udaan sector. Guwahati, March 20: The Indo-Bangladesh border along Assam’s Dhubri district is a ‘hot zone of crime’, including cattle smuggling, and the BSF has to maintain strict vigil in the area to control such activities, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in the Assembly on Monday.
