Manipur landslide: Army says 5 civilians, 13 soldiers rescued

New Delhi, June 30: The Army on Thursday said 13 soldiers of the Territorial Army and five civilians have so far been rescued from the landslide-hit railway construction site in Manipur's Noney district. At least eight people were killed and over 70 went missing after a massive landslide hit the railway construction site on Wednesday night. In a statement, the Army said Assam Rifles and Territorial Army troops carried out the rescue operations throughout the day in the general area of the Tupul railway station, in spite of inclement weather....

Army says China building infrastructure near Arunachal border

Guwahati, May 16: The Indian Army's Eastern command chief on Monday said China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) is engaged in infrastructure capacity enhancement across the international border in Arunachal Pradesh. 2 villagers ‘mistakenly’ shot at by Army in Arunachal’s Tirap

Itanagar/Dibrugarh, April 2: Two civilians were "mistakenly" shot at by the Army in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, Army sources said on Saturday. The incident happened at Chasa village on Friday evening when the two villagers, identified as Nokphya Wangdan (28) and Ramwang Wangsu (23), were returning home after fishing in a river, local sources said.
