
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 8: The 1st T20 Champions Trophy organised by the sports ministry of Nagamese Baptist Fellowship (NBF), Chümoukedima village commenced today at local ground Chümoukedima town.
Altogether 35 teams are participating in the tournament which carries a cash award of Rs 50,000 for champions, Rs 25,000 for runner-up and different individual awards.
Playing two matches on the inaugural day, Youngstars and Silver Machete won their respective matches.
In the first match, Youngstars defeated NBF by 16 runs. Youngstars scored 195 in 20 overs while NBF managed to score 179 runs. Mahidul of Youngstars was adjudged man of the match.
In the second match, Silver Machete CC defeated JN Agency Kohima by 39 runs. Silver Machete scored 113 runs while JN Agency made 75 runs. Philip of Silver Machete was adjudged man of the match.
Director of Shalom Public School, Chümoukedima, Merenla Longchar and Assistant Commandant of 3rd NAP, Bishnu Bahadur Thapa graced the inaugural ceremony as special guest and guest of honour respectively. (Page News Service)
