SYO 48th general session underway

Kohima, December 7: The Sakraba Youth Organisation (SYO) 48th general session is underway at Local Ground Sakraba Village in Phek district.
Chuba Ozukum, Consultant, Department of Justice and Law, graced the opening ceremony as inaugural guest and in his address he stated that sports is gaining popularity in the present society besides winning medals but also with so benefits for human.
He maintained that many also rose from rural and humble beginnings and inspired the youth to be determined to achieve great in their life and be hard working and also to aim high.
Ozukum also challenged the village to raise a leader from the village to have a representative at the legislative assembly and further carry forward the village for development and progress.
Further he also underlined the need for preservation and promotion of indigenous sports rather than imitation of other sports.
Earlier presidential address was delivered by Nupoyi D Vadeo, while a folk dance was performed by Sunday School Students of Sakraba Baptist Church (SBC) and the programme was chaired by Lehu Lohe.
During the three day events, four Khels-Lohe, Hesuh, Basa ‘A’ and Basa ‘B’ will be competing in various sports disciplines and the closing ceremony will be held on December 10.
