Swachh Shakti Week observed at Mkg, Longleng


Dimapur, March 8: The Swachh Shakti Week observation from March 4-8 culminated at Mokokchung with the celebration of International Women’s Day today. The programme was organized by PHED Mokokchung Division at Longkumer Kilen, Mokokchung with District SBM Ambassador, Tsukti Longkumer as the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Longkumer said Swachh Bharat (SBM) Mission should not be taken as an occasional social work exercise but it should be a continuous process in both inside and outside the house. He said unless people understand the core concept of SBM, the mission cannot be materialist in practical.
The programme was chaired by SDO, PHED, Masachuba Ozukum, Temjenyanger DAO PHED invoked God’s blessings, welcome address was delivered by Er.Kilen Jamir, SDC PHED, special song was presented by Lendi, presentations was done by E.E PHED, N.Yanger Pongen while vote of thanks was proposed by E.E PHED Moamenla.
Longleng: The weeklong Swachh Shakti Week at Longleng district culminated with the celebration of International Women’s Day today organized by DWSM PHED longleng at ABCL. More than 100 women sanitation champions attended the programme, which was organized to highlight the role of women in SBM.
Weeklong activities undertaken during Swachh Shakti Week was highlighted by S.Walling, Chemist, PHED, Longleng who congratulated the local sanitation champions for their active participation and contributions towards SBM or bringing sanitation awareness to the community and for motivating women, children and society thereby improving hygiene and sanitation.
Resource person, M.Atula Jamir, Counselor, OST Centre District Hospital, Longleng emphasized on the importance of women’s role in water & sanitation. She encouraged the women to come forward and work relentlessly by spreading awareness on sanitation and hygiene and keeping the surrounding clean so as to stay safe from diseases. (Page News Service)
