SVC condemns assault and robbery

Dimapur, April 10: The Sovima Village Council (SVC) has condemned the dastardly assault and robbery perpetrated on some persons involved in construction works at Sovima village last night at around 8.30 p.m. by some miscreants identified as Mhoyamo Lotha, 26 years; Sulanthung Lotha, 26 years, and Savito Sema, 35 years.


“We are alarmed that thieves and shady characters should move about freely in the vicinity of the village and pereptrate heinous crimes,” a press release issued by Sovima Village Council Chairman, Neikhriehu Kense stated and urged the Youth Organization of the village to be vigilant to prevent further recurrence of similar incidents.
Meanwhile, the Village Council appreciated the police personnel attached with the Chief Minister, Nagaland, and personnel posted at Chümoukedima Police Station for promptly apprehending the miscreants within an hour of occurence of the incident in a concerted effort.
Such efficient and speedy response in arresting criminals is a huge encouragement to the villagers, and shall surely go a long way in deterring wrong-doers from perpetrating their evil deeds, it added.
The SVC further urged the law enforcers to further arrest the absconding culprit who has been said to be identified and his residence located. (Page News Service)
