Dimapur, January 22: With the aim of strengthening ties of brotherhood among Sumi-Chakhesang community, three villages of Dzulhami, Kilomi and Khughutomi organized their “1st Fraternity Cultural Exchange” programme at Dzulhami village local ground under Phek district on January 21.
Thousand of peoples from the three villages of Sumi and Chakhesang, and also from neighboring villages, in their traditional attires attended the programme. Chakhesang and Sumi Hoho team also attended the programme as special invitees.
Hekhushe Shikhu, Sumi Hoho president said Sumi-Chakhesang been a brotherhood, the Sumi and Chakhesang Hoho is doing its best to maintain tranquillity among the community. He called upon the peoples to have cordial relationship among the two communities and not to break the relationship of brotherhood because of individual interest or small issues.
Mikha Kenye, Chakhesang Public Organizing president said celebration of fraternity cultural exchange also to mark the brotherhood of the Sumi and Chakhesang is a significant landmark. The Sumi brothers and Chakhesang share many similarities in our traits, we all should promote our true brotherhood spirit wherever we are, he said.
A short speeches and exhortation was delivered by Zachilhu Vadeo, ex-Minister; N. Phuhoi Swu, VCC Kilomi and Kihovi Swu, GB Khughutomi.
During the celebration, it was decided to organize the next “Fraternity Cultural Exchange” at Kilomi-Khughutomi villages during Ahuna festival in 2023. They also declared to celebrate the same after every three years during ‘Sekrenyi’ and ‘Ahuna’ festival to ensure connection among the people in order to achieve peace, love and to keep the spirit of brotherhood alive.
