Sukhalu reviews COVID-19 preparedness in Zunheboto

Dimapur, June 4: Advisor for School Education KT Sukhalu visited Zunheboto district on June 4 and had a review meeting in the DC’s conference hall with the Zunheboto district task force, district administration, police and medical department on the district’s COVID-19 preparedness strategy. The legislator was apprised by the district administration and medical department on the current status at the quarantine centres and the district as a whole.
Sukhalu thanked Kaito Aye, Minister Agriculture and Cooperation and Khehovi Yepthomi, Advisor ,Tourism and Art & Culture for taking good care of the arrangements in the district and representing Zunheboto and the entire district. He reiterated that there were too many rumours going around on social media, many guidelines but a lot of rumours and false information too.
On the Government’s decision to bring back the returnees from their respective locations, he said that the Government took a conscious decision and thought it would be wise to bring them back, as many were facing hardships. Now to contain it (Covid-19) is the responsibility of every individual and every citizen, as the Government cannot do it alone without the people’s support, he said.
“If everyone is socially responsible, we can contain this. We must support our frontline workers and work together then only can we succeed in containing this outbreak,” he said.
He also suggested that some skill development training be given to the people under quarantine to help rehabilitate them and asked the police force be extra vigilant in the quarantine centres so as to prevent any cases of people trying to escape. (Page News Service)
