Kohima, April 24: Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer, Abhijit Sinha has said that sufficient security will be deployed and video cameras installed for peaceful and smooth conduct of fresh polls in Polling Station-31 in Riphyim Old-III under 37-Tyui Assembly Constituency in Wokha district.
The CEO said that sufficient personnel of Central Armed Police Force and IR (NAP) will be put in place to check any malpractice during the repoll.
Fresh polls will start at 7AM and end at 4PM.
The CEO informed that ECI has deployed Armstrong Pame, IAS as the General Observer for the re-poll and he has reached Wokha.
The polling station has a total of 602 voters, comprising of 288 male and 319 female, the CEO added.
The Lok Sabha poll in Nagaland is a straight contest between the ruling PDA consensus candidate and NDPP nominee Tokheho Yepthomi and Congress candidate K L Chishi.
Meanwhile, the CEO also informed that case has been registered against the four polling officials deployed at PS-31 Riphyim for alleged dereliction of duty during the April 11 Lok Sabha polls.
Sinha said cases have been registered against the four following an FIR filed by the State Congress in Wokha police station and also a complaint filed with the Election Commission by the State Election Department.
Detailed investigation is in progress while action would be initiated accordingly, Sinha added.
