Students to watch Chandrayaan-2 landing on Moon with PM


Dimapur, August 18: To increase awareness about India’s space programme, an online quiz competition is being conducted by ISRO in coordination with ‘’ from August 10 to 20. Two top scoring students (from Class 8-10 only) from each State and Union Territory will be invited to ISRO, Bengaluru centre to watch the landing of Chandrayaan-2 on the Moon live along with the Prime Minister of India.
The Chandrayaan-2 mission was successfully launched by ISRO on July 22. The mission comprises of an orbiter, lander and rover to explore the moon’s south pole. Chandrayaan-2’s Vikram lander is expected to land on the moon on September 7. Principal Director of State School Education, Shanavas C, IAS requested head of institutions of all schools in Nagaland to ensure maximum participation of students in the online quiz. They will need to visit the website for participating in the programme. Each participant will receive a certificate of participation.
The last date of entry into the quiz competition is August 20.
