Students taught to take up leadership


Dimapur, April 13: With an aim to help student leaders discover the true meaning of leadership, Peace Channel, organized a day leadership training program for the peace Club members at Little Angel School in Wokha on April 13. Altogether 36 members along with the teacher animator actively participated for the program.
Speaking on the occasion, Peace Activist, Patrick W Tungoe stated that Leadership is not about a title or a designation but a person who knows the way, goes the way and show the way.
He exhorted that being a leader we should creates an inspiring vision for the future, coaches and builds a team and motivates and inspire the people to engage more effectively at achieving the goals. He further added that we should work on the effective speaking and communication to be able to convince and communicate the massage to the people.
He also encouraged the participants to be willing to accept and overcome mistakes and failure and added that to be a leader we should work hard to build ourselves, be it self-discipline, character and values by always setting good examples because it is not possible to lead someone else if we don’t lead ourselves in the Right direction. He also encourages the participants to set SMART Goals which is specific, measurable, achievable, rational /realistic and time bound.
Later, the student leaders were invited to take an oath stating that they would strive to be leaders who would make a difference. (Page News Service)
