Dimapur, June 1: Leadership as an important subject, the students of St.Paul School Phesama were capacitated on “Leadership and Self Exploration” by the Peace Activist, Susan Kulnu along with student volunteer, Elivi Swu of Don Bosco College Kohima.
There were 53 students and 1 teacher animator who participated during the programme.
Kulnu addressed the students saying leadership starts with our beliefs and values. “Therefore in order for us to know how to lead and how to improve upon our ability to lead, we must first understand ourselves. Leadership is about having a clear goal, a higher vision and taking full responsibility to achieve it,” she said.
She also added today’s students need leadership training like never before. Leadership helps us to improve life skills, such as introspection, cultural sensitivity moral acuity, people skills, and discussion -making acumen.
She also spoke about self awareness- and how it helps understand our strength, weakness, values, character and need. She stated that self exploration leads to self discovery and right understanding.
She ended the session urging the students to appreciate the moment of youth while they still have it, and also not to rush to become an adult.
