State PWD once again under litigation

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 17: Issues concerning the State PWD’s treatment of its work-charged employees have once again dragged the Department to Court.
This time, the petition has been filed by the officials of All Nagaland PWD Field Workers’ Association (ANPWDFWA) in Kohima Bench of Gauhati High Court.
“The case of the petitioners, in brief, is that the petitioners are the representatives of the All Nagaland PWD Field Workers’ Association who are the work-charged employees under NPWD, Kohima, Nagaland. The petitioners are before this Court seeking for a direction that some of the work-charged employees under the NPWD are entitled to time-bound scale of pay as per Rule 13 of the Nagaland Services (Revision of Pay) Rules, 1993 read with Rule 2(b), but the same has not been granted to them till date”, stated an order issued on Thursday by Justice Kakheto Sema.
It stated that the petitioners have submitted a legal notice to the Engineer-in-Chief of PWD Nagaland on October 12 this year “but no positive response has been evoked from the State respondents”.
“Being aggrieved, the petitioners are before this Court. Issue notice to the State respondents returnable within four weeks. List it accordingly”, the order read.
