State officials meet Peren District orgs

Dimapur, July 10: A State Government team led by Health & Family Welfare secretary, Kensonyu Yhome along with OSD, Nagaland State Disaster Management, Johnny Ruangmai and Health & Family Welfare Joint Director, Dr Kikameren Longkumer visited Peren District on July 9 and met Joint Action Committee (JAC), civil society organizations and students’ bodies of Peren District on COVID-19 related issues in the conference hall, District Headquarter Peren.
The meeting deliberated on the incident in which a positive patient was transported to Jalukie along with 16 returnees on June 3 before the test result was out. They also discussed the June 23 night incident where 96 Haryana returnees were sent off for home quarantine without getting re-tested.
In the meeting, the official team said Government will form a technical committee to set up COVID Hospital at District Hospital, Peren and ensure to reinstate full-fledged CMO Peren at the earliest as the post is lying vacant. It was also informed that Government will enhance the strength of specialist doctors for Peren District Hospital from 23 to 50%, nurses strength from 27 to 75% and two non-specialist doctors will be added within a month for immediate necessary action.
Earlier, the official team also inspected District Hospital, Peren and had a short interaction with various civil societies. (Page News Service)
