Dimapur, March 11: In a first of its kind to promote Hindi language in the State, the Directorate of School Education (Hindi Section), Nagaland organized a state level essay writing (Hindi Sikhane Se labh) and singing competition (in Hindi) for students of GHS/GHSS on March 7 at DSE conference hall Kohima sponsored by Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), Nagaland.
Earlier best performers from 80 GHS/GHSS were selected to participate at district level competitions in every district. Those who got 1st position in both the categories from 11 districts were invited for the State level competition.
In essay writing, 1st position was bagged by Nokenkala, GHSS Mayangnokcha, Mokokchung district, 2nd by Khozelu Veswuh, Phek district and 3rd was received by Jyoti Pradhan, GHS Sechu Zubza, Kohima district.
In singing category 1st position was bagged by Limrila, GMS, P. Khel, Kohima district, 2nd by Tekasangla, GHS Longjang, Mokokchung district and 3rd by Ringlik, GHS Dhansiripar, Dimapur district.
Along with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, consolation prizes were given to all the participants to create enthusiasm among the students.
While delivering a short sharing speech, RMSA Mission Director, Limawabang advised the gathering not to neglect Hindi as it is the official/National language of India.
