State I&C officials visit Longwa IBTC


Dimapur, July 18: Commissioner & Secretary of Industries and Commerce Department along with the Director of Industries & Commerce and General Managers of all District Industries Centers as a team for the first time visited the Longwa International Border Trade Center, Mon on July 14 last. The tour was initiated as an exposure programme for the officials of the Department to help understand border trade as currently being practiced and to provide inputs to facilitate formal trade against the barter trade system prevalent.
The officials interacted with locals of the area and also visited the border trade infrastructure already developed at Longwa by the State Government. Site for construction of a Common Facility Center (CFC) for handicraft cluster at Longwa under the North East Region Textile Promotion Scheme (NERTPS) was also identified during the visit.
Coupled with the exposure programme a coordination cum review and evaluation meeting of the General Managers with HoD and AHoD was also held at Mon on July 13. Issues on implementation of schemes and programmes of the Department in various districts and matters on coordination thereof were also discussed and resolved in the meeting.
A review of performance of all the District Industries Centers and their activities was also taken up during the meeting. (Page News Service)
