Dimapur, July 10: The State Health & Family Welfare monitoring team visited Dimapur District to review the performance of all the health programmes under District Health Society Dimapur on July 10. The meeting was held at Chapel Hall, District Hospital Dimapur. The team was led by Dr Vizolie Suokhrie, Director (Health), DH&FW, Nagaland.
During the first session, the District Programme Officers of various health programmes such as RCH-UIP, NVBDCP, RNTCP, DAPCU, IDSP presented comparative review of their respective programme activities and performances for the last three financial years. The DPO shared their achievements as well as the challenges faced during the implementation of the activities. The performance of each health programme was reviewed and interactions were held to discuss various gaps and suggestions to improve the performances were shared.
During the second session, the performance of District Hospital Dimapur was reviewed.
Dr Vizolie Suokhrie, Director (Health) stated that the performance of a health facility improves when the staffs are regularly available to provide health services. He urged the medical officials and health workers to be diligent and regular in performing their duties. He also urged the district to put up their needs and requirements such as more trainings, equipments, more awareness programmes, etc that will improve the health service delivery which, in turn, will improve the district health service performances.
Dr. Atoshe Sema, SPO (RCH) reiterated the importance of availability of health service providers in the health units. He informed that with implementation of LAQSHAY in all the districts, the institutional delivery and ANC will improve further. He also stated that nutritional support is also provided to all pregnant women registered in Government Health units under NHP schemes.
Dr Thanghoi Lam, SPO (NHM) was satisfied with the overall performance of the Dimapur District Health Society. He reminded the District to submit various reports on time for the smooth and efficient implementation of various health programmes. He further urged all health units to qualify for National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) so that the quality of health services is not compromised.
The meeting was chaired by Dr Antoly Suu, Deputy CMO and welcome address was delivered by Dr K Vikato Kinimi, CMO Dimapur. Dr Kheshito, MS, DHD gave the vote of thanks.
Dr Kinimi, CMO also interacted with Director and State officials for the betterment of the health delivery in the district. The other State officials who attended the meeting were Dr Niesakho Kire, Deputy Director (NVBDCP), Dr W Nchumbemo Ezung, SNO (NCD), Dr Ritu Thurr, SIO, Dr Nyan Kikon, SNO (IDSP). Medical officers and staffs under CMO and MS Dimapur also attended the meeting.
