Taking up a suo moto hearing on May 5 and 24, the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, asked the Nagaland Government to take up measures of designating isolation centres, ramp-up testing facilities, making all COVID-19 tests free, taking up vaccination on war footing, submitting report on manpower availability at health facilities and controling the escalating price of burials.
Issuing the directive, GHC, Kohima Bench Justice Songkhupchung Serto and Justice S Hukato Swu asked the State Government to comply with its directives while listing the matter for hearing on June 10.
However, sources revealed that the State Government is yet to file an affidavit.
Sources also said that faced with the difficulties due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Court is having sitting of Division Bench only once a week and though the suo-moto case was listed for hearing on June 10, the matter is yet to come up. (Page News Service)
