Dimapur, April 28: In view of the crisis arising out of COVID-19 pandemic, the state Government has decided that the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief to State Government employees and pensioners respectively due from January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021 would not be paid. However, they would continue to be paid at the current rate till further order, an Office Memorandum issued by Sentiyanger Imchen, Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner stated.
The OM stated that this is in line with the decisions of the Government of India. Accordingly, as and when a decision is taken by the Government of India to release the future installment of Dearness Allowance due from July 1, 2021, the deferred enhancements of Dearness Allowance would be prospectively restored and incorporated into the rate of July 2021 without arrears as specified in the OM dated 23rd April 2020.
