Dimapur, April 5: The Government of Nagaland has again appealed to anyone what attended the religious congregation at Nizamuddin, New Delhi and have not yet reported or contacted by heath authorities and is presently in Nagaland to immediately contact the State Level Control Room on COVID-19 at 0370-2291120 or 2291122 with full details for getting examined and screened for COVID-19 by the respective district and medical authorities.
Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha IAS said efforts through various modes are being made to find out all those people from Nagaland who attended the religious congregation at Nizamuddin, New Delhi and have not yet reported or contacted by State authorities.
“An appeal is again made to anyone who is presently in Nagaland, and has attended the religious congregation and not yet contacted by our district authorities, to immediately contact the State Level Control Room on COVID-19,” he appealed.
Sinha informed that as on Sunday afternoon, 47 samples of suspected cases were sent for testing and the reports for 45 samples have returned negative while results of two samples are awaited.
He informed that the Department of Health & Family Welfare has till now designated 4 hospitals as COVID-19 Hospitals namely, Chedema Ayush Hospital, District Hospital Dimapur, TB Hospital Mokokchung and District Hospital Tuensang, with a total bed capacity of 210. Preparations are underway for designating another five hospitals as COVID-19 hospitals, which will increase the bed capacity by another 260.
The number of quarantine facilities in the State is right now 43 with 1264 beds, he informed.
On the police assault on a doctor on duty in Dimapur late Friday night, Sinha said the entire matter is being looked into with utmost seriousness. “An enquiry is on to find those guilty, and corrective measures have been taken so as to ensure that such unfortunate things do not happen again,” he informed.
Stating that the entire medical fraternity, along with the police and all the frontline workers are unitedly battling the threat of COVID-19, he appealed to everyone to continue the fight with the same dedication and spirit of unity and cooperation that all have been showing right from the time this threat emerged.
The Principal Secretary further informed that the availability of essential goods and commodities continue to be comfortable across the State. (Page News Service)
