DIMAPUR, AUGUST 13: With a view to intensively review the steps being taken to manage the COVID-19 pandemic at the district level, the State Government has assigned a senior administrative officer along with a senior officer of the Health & Family Welfare Department to each of the districts in the State. Each team of officers would make visits to their assigned districts and interact with the officials of the District Task Force, the civil society organizations and others to carry out review and guide them in refining/improving COVID-19 management.
The State Government seeing the need to be prepared for any eventuality of a third wave has decided to continue increasing COVID testing, vaccination coverage and strengthening of healthcare infrastructure in the districts and hence the decision was taken to assign the senior officers to make an intensive hands on review of the COVID-19 situation in all districts and to ensure that steps are taken to improve the overall management of COVID-19 throughout the State.
In this regard, an Orientation Programme for the assigned senior officers was held today at the Secretariat Conference Hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima.
Chief Secretary, Nagaland, J Alam, speaking at the orientation programme encouraged the Teams to take the help of NGOs, Civil Society Organizations, Faith-based organizations and village authorities to create awareness among the general public.
He further mentioned the need for the teams to make an intensive study and review all aspects in greater detail so as to effectively deal with the COVID-19 situation and most importantly to ensure that the State improves its preparedness in the event of a Third Wave. (Page News Service)
