State eves beat Pondicherry in U-23 cricket

Dimapur, January 24: Nagaland u-23 women defeated Pondicherry by 1 run at the Women’s Under-23 1-day trophy (2019-20) played at Ravenshaw University Ground 2 in Cuttack on Friday.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Nagaland laboured to 126/7 in the allotted 50 overs, with Ayantika top scoring with 49 and Tulika contributing 21 runs.
For Pondicherry, Rebecca, Sonal, Likhitha and Deeksha took 1 wicket each.
Chasing 127 for a win, Pondicherry lost wickets at regular interval to be bowled out for 125 in 36.3 overs, with Sonal top scoring with 53.
For Nagaland Sariba claimed 4 wickets.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Seniors Men’s team is leaving for Kolkata on January 25 to play its Ranji trophy league match at Kolkata against Mizoram from January 27 to 30.
