State DGP visits Yonglok Police Station

Dimapur, February 6: DGP Nagaland, T John Longkumer visited Yonglok Police Station, 2nd NAP Camp Yonglok and police station Anaki-C under DEF Mokokchung on February 5 along with a host of police officers and ranks from Longleng, Mokokchung and his entourage from Kohima.
While interacting with police officers, NGOs and village councils at Yonglok Police station, T. John Longkumer said that after taking over as the DGP of the State he is visiting every district, police stations and outposts to ascertain the functioning of the police force in the grass root level with special focus in the remote border and disputed areas. He asserted that his primary focus area was border and disputed areas to maintain law and order and provide peace and security to the people living in these regions and at the same time to ensure peace and harmony with the neighbours.
Responding to the issues and grievances raised by the village councils and NGOs for immediate inauguration of Yonglok Police Station, the DGP said his visit was to see the infrastructure development, status & strength of the police force, their functioning, grievances and problems. He assured that the strength of the police force will be enhanced as per the criterion to ensure better functioning of the police force in the state and informed that the grievances and necessity of the police force will be reported to the Government for necessary action at the earliest.
Regarding inauguration of the Police Station, Yonglok, he said it will be inaugurated shortly and entrusted the SP Longleng and President PPC to tie up with VIP for immediate inauguration of the Police Station. The DGP also donated cash for improvement to meet the urgent requirement of 2nd NAP post at Yonglok.
Yonglok Police Station was established in the year 2008 and was non-functioning since November 2018 after all infrastructure development was completed. Due to urgency of the Police Station in the border area it however started functioning without inauguration since 5th December 2018.
The DGP was accompanied by Imlisunep IGP, Aotemsu DIGP, Rovishi Comdt. 12th IR, Raghuramarajan S.P Mokokchung, Yangba Konyak S.P Longleng, Lakha Khoza Comdt. 13th IR and Kuhovi Sumi Comdt. 2nd NAP besides other police ranks and files. (Page News Service)
