Dimapur, September 10: Director General of Police Nagaland, T J Longkumer IPS visited the Office of the Dimapur Police Commissionerate today.
During his maiden visit, he lauded the various achievements made by Dimapur Police while at the same time highlighted certain challenges that lie ahead. He also stressed the need to upgrade the current system of the District policing.
He also interacted with the officers and staffs of the Commissionerate and assured to extend full co-operation and assistance.
In his welcome address, the Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Limasunep Jamir, IPS gave a brief report about the Commissionerate setup since its inception in 2015.
The DGP also formally launched the Dimapur Police website www.dimapurpolice.in. With the objective of introducing online services to the general public the website has incorporated latest features which include online police verification, lodging of online complaints, besides other informative features.
As per the latest feature, a citizen can apply online for police verification, wherein a user/citizen can fill his/her details online over the website at any time without having to visit the office of the CP and the police station. All the services will be delivered online and the applicant needs to go only once to the office for final receipt of the certificate. The service will have a targeted service delivery time of 3-4 days.
Another feature is that a citizen can now apply online in case a person loses his/her mobile phone and wants to obtain the same mobile number. With the new online portal, a citizen need no longer visit the police station and can file a lost report online and an SMS will be sent which can be displayed to the concerned service to get his/her mobile SIM card.
