State DGP issues order against  solidarity meet in his support

Dimapur, June 17: Nagaland Director General of Police (DGP), Rupin Sharma, IPS has directed all personnel/staff of Police Headquarters to abstain from conducting/ attending the proposed meeting at PHQ on June 18 at 8 am as it is against the Service Conduct Rules.
In an order issued on Sunday, the DGP warned that any violation in this regard shall be viewed very seriously.
As first reported on Nagaland Page, the State Government has managed to convince the Centre to remove State top cop Rupin Sharma, IPS. He will be replaced by Chattisgarh ADGP, John Longkumer, IPS.
On learning of the proposed transfer of the incumbent DGP, the PHQ staff had on Friday decided to hold solidarity meet on June 18 outside the PHQ complex to register its displeasure over the proposed transfer of the DGP. It had decided to submit mass petition to the Government demanding retention of the incumbent DGP.
